Kernow Kino

Kernow Kino is an annual celebration of Cornish film, featuring a fresh programme of short films by local filmmakers, shown in community spaces and cinemas across Cornwall in February and March. Discover some of Cornwall’s most exciting filmmaking talent and experience authentic Cornish stories where they belong: on the big screen. Presented in partnership by Screen Cornwall and C Fylm, Kernow Kino champions local filmmaking talent and creates opportunities for brilliant Cornish films to be seen, shared and celebrated.

Kernow Kino | Need to Know

What is it?
Kernow Kino is a programme of short films made by Cornish filmmakers, shown on big screens in community venues and cinemas across Cornwall.

What can I expect?
A curated programme of eight short films, offering bold, funny, tender and surprising stories rooted in Cornish places, people and experiences.
Four films are in Cornish language with English subtitles.

How long is the screening?
The total running time of all eight films is approximately 85 minutes.
(Some venues may include a short interval)

Who is it for?
Suitable for older teens and adults.
Films explore themes including friendship, family, work, growing up, grief, love and change.

Where does it take place?
Screenings happen in cinemas, village halls and community spaces across Cornwall
