TEACHER BIOS

  • Lydia is a highly experienced yoga teacher known for her compassionate, intuitive, and inclusive approach. Her classes create a welcoming space for every body, blending mindful movement and breath to support strength, ease, and connection — both on and off the mat.

  • Amy began practising yoga with her mum in 1997 and it’s been a refuge for grounding, healing and awakening ever since. She shares yoga in a way that is accessible, soulful and joyful. She is a trauma informed trained teacher with 20+ years of experience.

She offers slow flow practices with an emphasis on alignment, energetics and breath alongside deep release and restorative practices to calm and soothe.

  • Kitty is a globe-trotting yogini whose practice blends ancient wisdom with modern soul. With roots in Ashtanga Mysore style and branches reaching into Meditation and Ayurvedic Medicine, Kitty’s teaching is both grounded and expansive. She’s studied across India, Indonesia, New Zealand, the UK, USA, and throughout Europe, weaving cultural richness into every breath and posture. Her classes are soulful journeys—equal parts strength, stillness, and breath —designed to awaken intuition and restore balance. Kitty’s background in Public Health adds depth to her holistic approach, empowering students to live well both on and off the mat. Whether she’s leading a yoga workshop, teaching surfing on the Cornish Coast, or simply sharing a cuppa after class, Kitty brings warmth, wisdom, and a splash of fun to every encounter.

Meditative Flow yoga class is a soulful, breath-led practice that weaves together fluid movement and mindful stillness. This class invites you to move with intention, linking breath to each posture in a slow, steady rhythm that cultivates inner awareness and presence. Expect grounded sequences, longer holds, and moments of guided meditation to deepen your connection to body, mind, and spirit. Ideal for those seeking a nourishing, introspective flow that balances strength with surrender.

    7:15pm (1hr)
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice that targets the deep connective tissues of the body—ligaments, joints, fascia, and bones. Postures are held for longer periods (typically 3–5 minutes), allowing time to soften, release tension, and cultivate stillness. This class encourages deep relaxation, enhances flexibility, and supports deep rest to the nervous system. Suitable for all levels, Yin Yoga offers a grounding counterbalance to more dynamic practices and busy lifestyles.

    Saturday 9:30am (1hr)

Morning Meditative Flow is a gently energising practice designed to awaken the body and centre the mind for the day ahead. Moving with breath and intention, this flowing sequence invites you to stretch, strengthen, and soften into presence. With a focus on mindful transitions, grounding breathwork, and moments of stillness, this class offers a calm yet uplifting start to your morning. Suitable for all levels, it’s a nourishing way to align body and mind before stepping into your day.

  • About Alex and Returning to Breath

Offering conscious connected breathing sessions, holotropic breathwork, a range of breathing techniques, and inclusive yoga classes. Together, these practices offer gentle and grounded ways to return to the body.

Introduction to Conscious Connected and Holotropic Breathwork

Conscious connected breathwork guides my work and supports deep personal reconnection. It sits alongside holotropic breathwork sessions, breathing classes, and inclusive yoga. These practices create accessible pathways back to the body.

    My Journey in Cornwall

I’m Alex, and I have lived in Cornwall for twenty years. During this time, I have worked in many community roles. For example, I have been a community development worker and a public service interpreter. I also worked as a mental health advisor for a local charity. Each role showed me our community’s strength and its need for compassionate support.

How Breathwork and Yoga Supported My Life

Alongside this work, breathwork and yoga kept me grounded and well. These practices helped me reconnect with myself during difficult times. They also supported balance, clarity, and emotional stability. I believe healing through the body is essential. Our bodies hold wisdom, and they guide us when we listen.

My Work Rooted in Conscious Connected Breathing

My work is rooted in conscious connected breathing, a gentle yet powerful approach that supports emotional release, grounding, and deeper self‑awareness. This practice sits alongside my breathwork and yoga offerings. It creates an integrated and accessible pathway back to the body.

Training in Breathwork, Holotropic Breathwork, and Yoga

Yoga and breathwork transformed my life. This transformation inspired me to train so I could share these practices. I trained as a conscious connected breathwork facilitator with Seven Directions. I also began training in holotropic breathwork, which continues to shape my path. In addition, I am a registered member of the Yoga Alliance. This membership supports high standards in yoga teaching.

How My Background Shapes My Work

My years in the mental health sector strengthened my belief in holistic care. We need support mentally, physically, and emotionally. Therefore, I now combine my community experience with embodied practices. I offer spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and breathe deeply. I feel grateful to support others on their healing journeys.

Why I Created Returning to Breath

I created Returning to Breath because I often say “Return to your breath.” I believe our journey begins with our first breath. Breath remains essential throughout life. Yet, we often forget it in busy moments. Returning to breath helps us slow down and reconnect.

Conscious Connected Breathing at the Heart of My Work

Conscious connected breathing is at the heart of my work. It guides the way I support people during breathwork sessions and inclusive yoga. These practices help people reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom.

The Power of Breathing Classes and Breathwork

There is growing evidence that intentional breathing supports wellbeing. Breathwork can help mental, emotional, and physical health. Please see my blog for more resources. Through Returning to Breath, I offer space to reconnect with this vital part of ourselves. This work helps people find clarity, presence, and inner calm.

My Mission With Breathwork and Yoga

My mission is to guide people back to themselves. I support them in returning to their bodies and their breath. Every session invites slowing down and listening within. Each class or circle offers a gentle return home to yourself.
