Get Folk'd! Presents - Ollie Dixon (w/support from Callum Kenworthy) Live @ The Ladder Redrut
Ollie Dixon
Inspired by the likes of RY X, Novo Amor, Sufjan Stevens. Ollie Dixon has become a staple in the South West music scene cultivating a beautiful, distinctive soundscape within his music but also rich, captivating music videos that showcase coastlines and inspiration he considers home. In addition to selling out a debut headline show at the Exeter Cavern, Ollie began touring the U.K & Northern Ireland selling out shows in London, Brighton, Bristol and Cornwall, Including multiple sold out headline shows for Sofar Sounds in England and Belfast.
Callum Kenworthy
Callum Kenworthy is an independent alt folk artist based in Falmouth, Cornwall. His work centres on detailed guitar playing, subtle rhythm and a close, unforced vocal, shaped as much by the spaces it’s recorded in as the instruments themselves. Rooted in folk but informed by flamenco phrasing, Latin rhythm and modern production, his music favours atmosphere and restraint over excess. Working largely independently, he has developed a reputation for immersive live performances and a careful, hands on approach to recording. His second album No One’s Listening was recorded between Cornwall and a series of improvised home studio spaces, continuing his interest in texture, dynamics and the quiet tension between closeness and distance.
Thank you to Get Folk'd for organising this show - we can't wait.
This show will be outside if weather permits. If not, this show will be in the Engine Room.7
