The Nick Darke Darke-a-thon

  • The Ladder 2-4 Clinton Road Redruth, England, TR15 2QE United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a celebration of legendary Cornish playwright, activist, and lobster fisherman, Nick Darke.

It’s been twenty years since we lost Nick, so what better way to remember his brilliance than by reading some of his finest plays in front of an audience?

The Body, Ting Tang Mine, and The King of Prussia demonstrate Nick’s extraordinary wit and wisdom, his razor-sharp dialogue, wild theatricality, and his passionate view of Cornwall and the world.

“The ocean gives me names… and stories.” – Nick Darke

With a brilliant cast of Cornish performers—including Bec Applebee, Tristan Sturrock, Annamaria Murphy, Josh Penrose, Jenny Beare, Hannah Stephens, Simon Harvey, and Carl Grose—accompanied by live music from Jim Carey, The Nick Darke Darke-a-thon will be a night to remember!

Food & Drinks:
Beets and Roots will be serving vegetarian food between readings (cash only – see website for menu and pre-orders). Tea, coffee, and a bar will also be available.
